Question for econ/finance people: Views on why the Fed spent all its rate ammunition so early in this crisis? I follow econ news, understand Fed/rate stuff (your usual educated lay-person) and wondering if there was some consensus on WH pressure vs plausible case for it?

We'll find out in 5 minutes but pre-market extended hours is saying -11% on S&P 500 and VIX has exploded to beyond 2008 levels. Tricking markets and lying to the public give you short term pause before long term cataclysm -_-

Absolutely it has. the Fed should not be taking financial advice from the president to begin with, much less a president whose only consistent financial strategy has been bankruptcy.
