It’s not just you, but so many pieces were published in February dismissing the worries, framed as that’s why are these people panicking. The countries that reacted properly and early on with alarm, like Hong Kong Taiwan and Singapore, have things mostly under control.

It’s not just because they have governments on board. Hong Kong government has been an obstacle, but still HK people understood the risk and reacted. In contrast, I spent February seeing pieces like the one above instead of what we desperately needed. We should learn from this.

Agree. Reporting should have focused on what the models were saying, rather than on the raw case numbers. Should have talked about rates and doubling times
