This is a crisis of elite failure along with the inability of challengers to act strategically to create viable alternatives. There were so many paths for elites to keep things afloat, by just being a little more sane. Challengers aren't up to it, either—yet. Far from over.

Sadly, challengers never managed to figure out a viable path either. First rule of winning in politics is unite your friends, divide your enemies. Understand the rules of the game, and play what it is—not some fantasy. Figure out tactical decision-making. None of that is here.

I'd ask if exchanging the tax cut with incompetence and corruption was worth it to the wealthy, though unfortunately the most vulnerable are going to suffer more. I’m not sure patriarchy is a good path here or blaming generalized groups. We are all in this together and tech leaders are no longer children. Many of us who were in Silicon Valley in early 90s grew up and are trying to lead. Your voice important as a path setter.
