I don't think people understand the issue. There are no fixed numbers. There is no single R0 (infectiousness), no single CFR (case fatality rate), no single percent infected. It's all a Schrödinger's pandemic: to be settled when COVID-19 hits our infrastructure and our response.

I'm a third-worlder by birth and childhood, and it is painful to see that more and more people in such wealthy countries may well be about to discover what it means to hit even a hiccup with terrible infrastructure. My goodness, this is stuff we should be ready for anyway.

"We get the flu every year." You know what will happen if we hit COVID-19 unprepared? More people will die of... the flu. And everything else. On top of COVID-19. We have only so many hospital beds, ventilators, ICUs. To be ready means we are ready to flatten the curve—buy time.

My 91 yr old grandma's MLTC case manager, a nurse by training, called for her monthly check up. I told her grandma had her flu shot in Nov, was doing great. Nurse told me she believed Covid19 was made in a lab, vaccines make you sick/cause autism, asked if we wear masks outside

Could be an isolated rogue nurse, but I'm waiting for City's public health to respond. Can't imagine MLTCs would not be trained and ready when the elderly are the most vulnerable to this virus

It’s droplet transmission, not airborne. Masks and hand hygiene are effective

Natures way of culling out the weak. Look at the weak in the GOP and the White House and hope for the best.

Exactly. The experience of China has already proved that once the government misses the timing of controlling COVID-19 in the incipient stage, it would pay the heavy price for it.

This (unfortunately) aged very well
