Internal threats are often the biggest threats. Don't store data; don't store plain-text data; don't allow sysadmin/SRE roles to have access as loners; anyone targeted by governments should have extra security; don't use 2FA phone numbers for marketing, etc. etc. etc.

Reminder that dissidents in Saudi Arabia can be flogged, tortured, jailed and beheaded. That's the stakes.

It is impossible for this case to be firm on Saudi Arabia for reasons related to the objectives of the investigation. Who knows if the two suspects are working for several Arab parties? What if there was a breach or recruitment by anti saudi parties The process is really complex

When you see something stupid online and you engage with it to point out its stupidity, it grows. This statement reflects the story of Twitter hacking that relies on fake stories without proofs. Ksa is busy in developing its country for the sake of its citizens.

Well Zeynep, the accusations go back a long time, and it's nothing new. In any case, nowhere is it mentioned that Saudi Arabia is involved in this spying case. The report mentions allegations and possibilities, but doesn't offer a concrete evidence to implicate the Kingdom.

The FBI report did not clearly mention any role for Saudi Arabia, but rather doubts and did not provide any real evidence, but statements that cannot be adopted as evidence.

The whole case is based on press reports and allegations of dissidents working for Qatar. There are no official reports on these alleged accusations. Even the FBI report did not indicate Saudi involvement.

the accusations are based on media reports, as all another cases that miss the evidence, twitter did not confirm any accusations, and saudi arabia as a big user of twitter, welcomed the last security aupdates.

This claim is rejected and lacks evidence to prove it, and no statement was issued by Twitter confirming these accusations. Abu Amo was previously acquitted of this case through the American judiciary.
