Look how well deplatforming from just three—Facebook, YouTube, Twitter—works. It’s one thing to believe that the society may well be better off without A Jones in the public sphere, another to realize that’s an immense power being exercised mostly arbitrarily.

@zeynep, to add, Zuckerberg excludes the simple fact that social media design is frictionlessly privileging our fast, emotive "thinking" into speech. Product design is not slowing us down as we engage in speech. (applying Daniel Kahneman - fast vs slow thinking). -
I have been arguing that was Social/Digital needs is a bit more friction. Both in B2B and C2C processes. A penny of “cost” is invisible to a user but expensive to a bad actor working at scale.
