Oh my god, the @hkpoliceforce hit the 73 year old hunger striker yesterday. How low can these vermin sink?
I will NOT compromise on the Core Demand for an independent investigation into these thugs. There must be a reckoning.pic.twitter.com/XnXw2ZzIsc

Uncle Chen went on a hunger strike that lasted at least 270 hours, and has regularly turned up to protests to defend the kids along with some other badass elders despite the fact a strong wind could knock him over. (Well, it could fucking try, he’s tenacious AF.)pic.twitter.com/GKeI7SUBJd

I was there. They then pepper-sprayed that small group holding hands in front of them while shoving them aside. :-(

Yeah. I have unfortunately witnessed a lot of police misconduct. My impression is these guys are both notably incompetent and unnecessarily aggressive. One saving grace in Hong Kong is press is allowed to operate, unlike many other places. Hence 8/31 cctv release is important.

The rumors probably aren’t fully true but I suspect the reality is pretty terrible.

That’s where my feelings (and hopes) lie too. Hated sharing rumours, but the amount of discussion about it online it needed to be raised even if only to dispel them.

Yeah. When they reach that level, only sunlight helps. People reasonably think if they do all that in front of cameras... (Also, man, they do all that in front of cameras! Chasing down that kid yelling about their conscience... Absolute breakdown of any semblance of discipline!)

The account of an arrested protester who was beaten in a police van surely raises public suspicion on how police operate in the absence of press https://news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/component/k2/1478712-20190904.htm …

At this point, all suspicions is well-deserved. They are not acting in any semblance of professional discipline. A good deal of panic and lashing out... Did they repurpose some frustrated traffic cops and put them on 12 hour shifts for months on end with impunity?
