No they didn’t and no they didn’t. Carrie Lam was chosen by a 1,200-member committee that’s rigged to guarantee a pro-Beijing majority

Sounds like electoral college in the US to me. Are u saying that democracy can be rigged? Whoa what a concept!

It is not like the electoral college. Electoral college is imperfect. HK is rigged.

Well, one way to find out if people want democracy or top-down authoritarian rule would be to ask them in a free and fair election.

Right. Western democracy is fake democracy. The true democracy is the CCP model, where only communists vote for other communists, since only the party can be trusted to safeguard the people’s true interests. Am I right?

But you have no right to make claims as a "we" without free and fair elections. Democracy may not be perfect but it's in a different category than others. If the rulers were confident in that "we have a shared reality" they would hold elections. That they don't is your answer.

You claim the ability to read people 's private & true thoughts at the scale of billions & tally them, and the self-appointed leaders as the only ones with correct answer. This would not be accepted by anyone if they had the choice. Thus they aren't given the choice. That's all.

Good questions. We should definitely ask the people of Hong Kong what they think. I agree it’s them not the outsiders that matter. Have a good day!
