I don’t really understand articles like the below. (There are many.) Google generated very little cashflow in 2001. Quite true, and why one should spend empirically-grounded but imaginative effort to understand where things might be going while also trying hard to measure at each step because by the time you get the full picture it's too late with potentially a lot of negative lock-in.
