Yeah, I want to know the answer! I went in & deleted...something...deeper in the settings. So I deleted it but I cannot get it to stop logging.

I know I can do incognito. What does "pause web and app activity" do then if it doesn't actually pause web and app activity?

Ah, so there actually is no way outside of gymnastics. (Also none of the above options would work on a Chromebook but will try and see if it does anything).

"web and app activity" is a Google-services-wide setting which, afaik, has no control over Chrome browsing history.

What is it actually then? It is quite misleading because what else is an ordinary person supposed to think it is? (I don't know myself?).
