That claim is also not true for radio, TV, telegraph, printing press, car, etc. Those also haven't just "revealed" existing human behavior: they changed the conditions under which human societies operate. That we normalize the past obviate the need for concern—either then or now.

If anything, it would have been much better if we had more deliberation back then, too. Say cars. We might not have built things the way we did and had fewer issues with sprawl, commutes, healthy neighborhoods, etc—not to mention climate change. Bring on the panic early, please.

hypertransparent is a weird way to say amplifying; even ignoring the fact they're denying the shaping element. Amplifying is a neutral term imo while hypertransparent implies mostly positive outcomes which, i suppose, is in line with denying the shaping.
