Here is what I am saying. Diagnoses of prediabetic are often presented as fact. Meds are being aggressively prescribed. Many are being prescribed for weight loss. People are being prescribed meds at weight loss clinics, for example. There are competing financial incentives.

I don't argue the drug is a legal one, a useful one, one that may do X. I am saying that I am concerned with how aggressively prescribed metformin is to many people in my life given ongoing debates and mildly conclusive data.

Problem in so many medical/pharma fields with mass market profit incentives. For example, antidepressants/antipsychotics obviously can help some people. They’re also often prescribed without context and which gets prescribed has a lot to do with patent status aka profit margins.
