Decades of research shows job training programs don't work at scale because of lack of *supply* of appropriate good jobs. I've seen people who've gone through some very high profile bootcamps spend months trying to get coding and design work. Even people with advanced degrees in related fields, decades of industry experience and networks in industry hub-cities struggle to break in.

I think the prevalence of outsourcing operations make a lot of people think "why can't we just train people and do this at home"... not realizing that those engineers in India have five year CS degrees.
