The reason the companies don’t give us transparency is that the companies don’t want to give us transparency. We deserve actual trustworthy numbers in context. Transparency is on them—whether or not anyone misunderstands or misrepresents this or that.

Imagine a car company saying we don’t want to give you emission numbers because some environmentalist group misrepresented or misunderstood our release. I don’t see why we are supposed to understand it from the point of view of what’s inconvenient for the companies.
