So Twitter is now showing me tweets from accounts that some people I follow follow? How do I turn it off?

There's a few things to block or mute. I think I retweeted it a while back... Let me see if I can find it...

I just use the mobile browser to access twitter on my phone and if i don't check it often enough it will automatically revert to "best" tweets and I have to manually change it back to chronological, so annoying.

That is not a bug -- it is a feature. Works like a charm to maximize engagement. Mostly.

This is the correct answer. We are reading what Twitter wants us to read, not the other way around. Our agency is an illusion.

the top vs. most recent tweets is a deliberate feature. Others have also reported that the app keeps switching back to top tweets

Best way to have a clean Twitter feed is to create a new account. Changing settings not makes any difference at all. I think even unfollowing people in bulk doesn’t change anything. I did this and worked for me.
