(Everything I’ve been shown so far has been the opposite of what I’d want to see to balance my information exposure. Recommendation algorithms don’t easily promote balance).

I had uninstalled and reinstalled Twitter on phone and that might have turned “best” tweets something something back on. Switched back to chronological but it was fascinating to see the default setting pushed polarizing, blustery tweets into my timeline.

It's the algorithmic timeline. If you see stars at the top right of your app, that's the switch.

you have to change that back *all the time* *on purpose*; it changes to top tweets automatically when you have been away from twitter for "long enough". even if you have this set on the web sitepic.twitter.com/6zbIdNU06p

Muting suggest_* keywords works to clean up my own feed, but how do I interily disable the feature to use my account to amplify the sometimes questionable tweets by some of the people I follow? I want my followers to only see my retweets in their feed, nothing else.

I will apply these settings and hope it eliminates it for me, as well. Twitter support ignored my req for info on how to stop that behavior. Twitter won't show me all the tweets from accounts I do follow so it's esp. irritating to be shown randomness from ppl I don't follow!
