I think: Linux Analysis Workstation & a Bad USB based atrack, one might interrupt the infection process to analyse the interim state. In that case, analysis might be paused too, bc the agent realized he didn't have the right tools.

An active device set to do anything that USB input allows, can look like a thumb drive. Hope they had PC off net. In this administration we have no way to know sabotage from stupidity, let alone truth from lies.
