I just noticed that Lyft will allow me to schedule a ride that's more than 150 miles long! Could be three hours. Can the driver see what they are getting into before hitting accept? Otherwise seems ... terrible, to end up hours away from your home, no notice.

Ah, I assume this is true for Lyft, too? They know what's happening? (I hope there is extra $$$?)https://twitter.com/andrewlong166/status/1113167311039606787 …

Yes, driver sees estimated duration of all trips 40 minutes and over. In very small type, during the initial acceptance countdown. Pressure to accept all rides is strong.

Agree. I understand the need to reduce possible discrimination of ride length, but there should either be some incentive and/or notice to them.

Driver can also cancel any ride they have already accepted, but that is discouraged even more than not accepting a ride in the first place.

IDK about Lyft, but Uber drivers get a notification if the trip is longer than 45 mins https://www.uber.com/c/180-days/long-trip-notification/ … And I think they might get an additional heads up and ability to negotiate price for particularly long jaunts (was told this by an Uber driver, but idk if that's true)

I'm pretty certain the drivers can see where you're located before they accept. But I'll ask the next one I see...

Theoretically, given an organized team of people distributed around the country/continent/globe, how *far* could you get a Lyft/Uber driver from their home city?

I was talking with a driver who had a ride from Las Vegas to Oakland. He said they have access to that kind of info.
