Latest phishing: your "dean" emails (except it's their email at gmail dot com) asking for @Google play gift cards—and to scratch off pin and send a picture. Question: are such gift cards truly untraceable? Asking for someone who's emailing back and forth with the scammer atm.

LOL update, I meant to email my dean and Outlook autocompleted the spammers email since I had emailed back and forth with them hahaha. Yes, I accidentally sent it. I hope they send me back proper feedback on my plan!

Our entire college here was spammed. It happened to multiple colleges
@ualbany. When telling the spammer that I knew they weren’t my Dean, they sternly said they were confused and “would talk about this when they get back in the office.” - End of conversation
