Puzzled why publishers don't control their format.
Publisher: "Would you like to read/blurb this forthcoming book?"
Me: "Yes. Looks great! Can I buy it?"
Them: "Not yet. Here's a PDF/hardcopy."
Me: "Less likely I can read PDF. Please send epub? Kindle compatible?
Them: "No."

I would like them to provide me with a clean copy somehow! Happy to buy, too. Just puzzled that they don't make their books readable for potential blurbers.

Trust me, as someone who reads a lot of PDFs for work, I understand. But most PDF manuscripts can be easily converted to ePub and put on a kindle to be read at your leisure.

They’re the ones asking something.
