It's interesting we're having this discussion upon releasing text models that _might_ have potential for misuse yet we never engaged as fully as a community when many of the technologies powering visual Deep Fakes were being released, including hard to make pretrained models.

I actually think that text is more nefarious long term. Language causes us to frame our thinking differently, and changes how we interpret things in the future. Visuals validate or disprove facts.

It's not an either/or but visuals are very common and rarely researched at scale the way text is. Most of what people encounter is memes and visuals, not paragraphs.
