This is great — I hadn't noticed how much they must be trying to disassociate from the old "clutter + collect dust in the basement" home exercise stereotypes.

I am moving in July, and my new place has a basement!!! I am dreaming of all the ways I'll make it into an exercise space.
Admittedly, I don't really need much equipment and use everything I have all the time. My sense is the one in the living room is the the that's ignored.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I'm in the house market and exercise space is also on the 'nice to have' list. But same: minimal equipment... I think you're right about living room: getting away for a bit can be one of the benefits.

Basements are naturally colder, and can also be independently cooled. Nobody hangs their coats on your elliptical. Your bench can remain unfolded. Put your chinup bar without explaining it to anyone. It's a dedicated space, put in a large exercise mat. Baaasements ftw!
