As I'm sure you are aware, space is an issue in essays like these, and editors trimmed 2000 words and lots of citations from my first draft. They requested minimal citations, and so lots of others I would have liked to have cited, I could not because of space (e.g,

Moreover, as I write explicitly in the essay, these are all points that are now becoming conventional wisdom -- 'painful truths' -- around which there is a growing consensus thanks, in part, to you work, but lots of others too.

Hi Ron. Now that I've beed tagged among the uncited! It's true that your article reiterates the "painful truths" around which there's a growing consensus but it would serve readers better to cite people who've helped create that consensus. Definitely cite Siva in the web version!
