I commented to express my lack of understanding about a widespread phenomena that was directed, in this case, at a writer that I like. In general, I take the views of college students seriously. No one objects when the topic at hand accords with their sympathies.

That whole thing with Larry Summers stepping down at Harvard happened just after we graduated (separately, not from harvard), seemed pretty student-driven. And business as usual, ish.
