There's a role for playing with technology in early education, and for assistive technology for the elderly, but pretty clear that almost all these affective uses (companionship, teaching) will be used to cut costs and warehouse children/elderly. Enriching with tech is expensive.

We already have a junior version of this. There are companies that make essay grading software. Others get the privilege of being read by eyeballs.
