Those are not remotely similar to what happened with Wikileaks. My piece from before the election below. WL/DNC hacks were political sabotage and 21st century type censorship, not whistleblowing. This feels a bit like the Iraq war arguments. One could oppose that war as a bad idea while having no illusions about Saddam Hussein. One can defend whistleblowing while understanding hack/mass release one-side right before an election is political sabotage, not whistleblowing.

Similarly, one can believe that countries like US/UK should focus more on fixing what ails them and less on Russian meddling—without having to deny what is so clearly evident about their meddling, even before this. Fix your own vulnerabilities is right, doesn't require denial.
