The divers will attempt to bring out 13 non-swimmers through a very challenging cave dive! Harrowing. The way the cave-diving community has mobilized is impressive as cave-diving is a very specific subset of diving—even expert non cave-divers have limited skills for this.https://twitter.com/ap/status/1015805862131261442 …

Luckly kids are more likely to learn diving, news says that kids will use full face masks and will not carry their own tank, they ll probably be attached to instructors body at all times.only panic is the shit recipe here.

I’ve seen grown man go through a full tank in 15 minutes in merely slight panic, not even at great depths. The kids seem so strong though.

Kids are always quick and stable learners when it comes to scuba diving, and mostly very coachable.I keep my hopes very very high about this op.

I read the coach lost his family young and ended up in a monastery—learning meditation and had taught the boys, too. So the kids may have breathing and self-calming skills. Plus, small so can squeeze. And there’s amazing expertise there. I’m hopeful. Still, tough... 0-vis, cold.

...luckly there is a huge culture of scuba and highly skilled divers in thailand.

A good many top technical cave-divers appear to have gone there. Some apparently just went—out-of-pocket, bought a ticket and flew in.
Hopefully everyone comes out safe and none of the volunteers pay for their own dinner ever again.1 reply 0 retweets 7 likes -
