You mean forge and minecrafr? cause both of them are, at any version, exploitable, see Xenobyte, drakenyte's hack and many others.

Are you trying to explain how Forge works to the Forge lead dev?

No, i'm just saying its insecure, and it's a dickmove to not fix your older versions.

It's not. If I run Windows XP and get no security updates, I can't blame Microsoft. Especially since Forge is FOSS and could be forked and mantained on old versions if necessary.

Especially because its FOSS it should still be maintained, there is no money loss or cooperate pressure on doing so. Also Windows is backwards compatible down to Windows NT 4.0 (1996). Which forge is not even within one Version.

"Especially because its FOSS it should be mantained" Then do it. It's FOSS. FOSS means you can do it, not that others will do it for you.

I dont ask for others to do it, im just judgeing the action of abbandon older versions that are still in use, while you still code on the same project. just because its FOSS doesnt mean you should not take responsibility for your actions.

It's not his fault that version is still in use. If you want to keep using old versions, either you mantain them yourself, or accept the fact that there are bugs and vulnerabilities. You don't see people angry at the Linux Foundation for not supporting Linux 1.3 anymore.
