So I've been researching this, and it looks like you could merge photography and painting this way. Dichromate disolves colloids in UV.

I'd worry about accidentally contaminating things, and the resulting long-term exposure, but dissolving eyes would suck.

also, dermatitis is unpleasant! Killing a bunch of aquatic things and EPA attention are also suboptimal. That's unlikely, though...
