Ever notice how the "information should be free" crowd never goes after people selling illegal copyrighted material off shopify? Like, if it should be free then go after people selling illegally so costs at least go down. That's the biggest sign the idea is bullshit.

Or, how all of them never release the code to the startups they make. "Information should be free...so I can pump it out of my startup's pipes!" Yeah? Alright, post all your code ooohhh no you mean *other* people's information should be free. It's always been cover for theft.

Honestly I'd be down if the "information should be free" crowd were consistent or honest. If they opened up their email to the world, gave everyone ssh access to their servers, didn't run private trackers, at least I could respect them. Or, if they just said, "I like stealing."

But you have to be a special kind of scum to attach a political movement to a kind of theft that really only punishes indie creators who can't hire lawyers while claiming it helps the poor while signing an NDA to work at a FANG that doesn't pay taxes. Like, fuuuuck you.
