I need a platform to actually facilitate an async course with a cohort, not just "hey I made these videos. Enjoy my "course"

That’s basically what I’m making, ‘cause I need to put up about 4 courses like this.

Man I don’t want to reinvent blackboard. :( at that point I’ll clone Canvas and add Stripe to it.

Sooner or later all LMS become trash IME. Realistically I’ve build a course construction tool. I’ve resisted converting it into a platform for delivery because I’m only one guy and the stuff that’s left is the hard parts.

I think the problem with all LMS is they try to replicate the "classroom experience" while also trying to not replace the classroom because the professors won't use them if an LMS can replace them. So, I don't make an LMS. I make something to replace me.

I’ll be interested to see what you create because your teaching methods are sound. But I suspect it’ll be fairly pretty unique to you rather than something others could use.

It is, but that's only because I don't agree with this idea that teaching involves constant 24/7 communication with a teacher. Needing that opens students up to abuse, doesn't scale, and allows teachers to be bad at instruction while also keeping students from self-education.
