About 99% of the people who were involved in Python's leadership knew about Steve Holden's abuses of members--including myself--and his racism and sexism. If you see anyone from Python or Django supporting any anti-racism or anti-fascism there's a good chance they're lying.

Multiple women--including Lynn Root--told me that he has touched them without permission. At the time that Steve Holden wrote this he had just helped create the PSF and DSF's Code of Conduct, then proceeded to walk around the conference asking women to touch his "one eyed snake"
Nick Coghlan (current Python project lead), a self-professed feminist, actually knew about this behavior for weeks before Steve was found out and never did anything about it. Nick has also harassed me over repeatedly. Jesse Noller was PSF president at the time of this incident.
Jesse Noller actually knew about Steve's behavior at the conference, and not only did *not* throw Steve out, but actively helped Steve hunt down a whistleblower to beg the whistleblower to take down comments on HN that outed Steve. Jesse spent years protecting Steve.
When I told everyone that Steve Holden at assaulted me at the conference--and I'm not only one to make this complaint about Steve--Jacob Kaplan Moss threatened me by email me and telling me to "not cause drama". I was forced to not file an official report for fear of retribution.
Ola Sitarska--who ran the conference at the time--refused to do anything about it, and played games with me "not filing an official report", then allowing Steve Holden to continue to speak at the conference on diversity. In fact, Steve repeatedly spoke about diversity.
Not only is Steve an self-admitted sexual harasser, a drunk who assaults people at events, but his diversity presentations borderline on the edge or concealed racism. The PSF and DSF repeatedly allow this white man who they *know* is a proven sexist to speak about diversity.
Lynn Root also knew about Steve Holden, and even when she was in charge she did nothing about him. If you go down the leadership of the PSF and DSF, the entire time Steve has been in charge he's committed multiple CoC violations and has never once been sanctioned.
Additionally, the reason the DSF did this https://www.b-list.org/weblog/2018/nov/20/core/ … is they were called out for being almost entirely white and male, and rather than diversify their core developer group, they just shut it down and now run the "core" in secret.
When you start to dig, you find that the PSF and DSF leadership is full of secret racists and sexists being protected by the other members, but who destroy other people's entire careers over "fork your dongle". It's time they're held accountable just like you and me.
If you have access to anyone on the PSF and DSF please contact them to have Steve and anyone who protected him publicly sanctioned and punished for his actions. Stop funding the PSF until they do. Your money should go to worthy causes, not an Old Boy network of subversives.
