I think I’ve figured out a secret with this little 6x8 painting. Total time was about 20 minutes, just 4 colors and white. I have been trying various experiments to replicate a painting technique that relies on tons of real turpentine, but I found a medium that’s better.pic.twitter.com/1hfzRUtiAj

Anyone who studied with Richard Schmid has this really unique realistic yet impressionist style all done alla prima. Casey Baugh mentioned his medium has ton of actual turpentine so it tacks up fast but doesn’t dry totally. The with frayed soft brushed they can paint soft on it.
