Did a fast grisaille drawing using less lines and more blocks of value. I measure it out loosely using a sight size method, but since I might do this with a palette knife again I’m worried about crazy accuracy.pic.twitter.com/UOkgCtOo4K

First layer of paint with just simple shapes. Using a brush and cold wax medium so it dries quicker.pic.twitter.com/h93aO9S6zT
Are you using photos that you set up and took as your subjects? Because the prints of those photos are amazing. (In addition to lighting, composition, etc) I love artichokes, looking forward to this one!
Nope. It’s a cardboard box setup I half discovered half invented. It’s the easiest way to get perfect chiaroscuro lighting. I do use photos if the subject dies or if after it dries i want to fix something I missed, but otherwise it’s for document purposes.pic.twitter.com/jThpFes4vj
