To prepare our next courses, I'm working on a set of tools called "product packager": shell programs to compress videos, pictures, create html and PDF documents... It's here (work-in-progress): https://github.com/GDquest/product-packager … Is there a good alternative to eval to build commands?
Really? Looks like a lot of bash features being used but check what it supports, or just run bash to get some nicer features for handling the line endings. The main reason to avoid that sed/mp4 trick it fails in weird ways while %% always works.

It's all posix, yes, the script runs in dash here. I noticed a strange bug with one or two videos failing in weird ways in lists, and it could be that sed pipe. i'll try with bash, thanks!
