Might I suggest LICECap for small little videos: https://www.cockos.com/licecap/ Makes a GIF which is usually easier to attache since it’s considered an image. Haven’t actually tried it on GH though.

I use LICEcap on GitHub, it's great because the results are super light. Video -> GIF conversion will never be that small
