Nope, I type $env:PATH there and I can run node. That's all that matters. Your claims that they're somehow wildly different because "x-plat" is pointless. You could just be like them, but you insist on promoting this agenda of not being like Linux despite you not knowing Linux

I found this conversation very educational. I'd like to note that Anaconda offers the option to add Python to your PATH but recommends against it. I tell new users to follow that recommendation, but the situation is easy for them - Anaconda comes with its own shell and GUIs.

I've been on the fence about adding a "Python Shell" to the regular installer (or launcher, more likely, not that anyone will really notice the difference). Really just about getting the semantics right. But wouldn't work with Git Bash, which rules it out for many people
