Some of the most upsetting tweets I get to see are people who 100% gave up on Windows a decade ago because of Python. Much like 100% giving up on Linux because of AAA games. Don't judge a platform by the things that weren't designed for it.
Finally, Linux distros trash project constantly and get away with it so Windows cam do it too. But, if anyone from the PSF is using their influence to prevent this by saying they will be “upset” if you change it then that’s authoritarian and anti-open source.

Nobody is trashing any projects, and nobody from the PSF is using any influence here at all, that I'm aware of. I suspect you're responding to more than what's been said in this thread. I don't have enough context, clearly.

Debian and many other linux distros frequently alter and carve up installations to satisfy their user's needs. Saying "nobody does this" is again proven false.
