Ok, I need a video explaining how to control not embellishing and/or over detailing work, because I love this, and I know I couldn't. I'd have to overthink and try to put stuff in that doesn't need to be there.
It’s something all artists struggle with, but the thing to realize is more is not perfect. Instead you try to see what you can get away with using less. It also helps to realize people are visually dumb and don’t even notice 90% of details.
One exercise is to keep a “stroke count” and attempt a painting. If you have to record each stroke and any time you put paint on it makes you make them have impact. Also setting a time limit and doing small paintings.
