On this painting I’m going to attempt something different. Gouache is easier to use than watercolor but you lose a lot of the beautiful gradients of watercolor. Gouache is however excellent at in-focus sharp edges and high chroma. So I’m going to use both. First, watercolor:pic.twitter.com/c7YEEchT98

Then, the foreground will be done in gouache to get that solid high chroma focus there. Watercolor for far away and soft, gouache for up close and focused.

Incidentally I cannot sign the praises of Georgia enough. They are the only country in the world that has 1 YEAR tourist visas for nearly everyone without paperwork, and you can easily upgrade to a 2 year work visa in-country. That’s unheard of.

The food in Georgia is some of the best in the world. It’s this amazing mix of European, Middle Eastern, and Asian foods that blend to be entirely Georgian. Kharcho is the absolute bomb and I loved it so much I learned how to make it at home. It’s also very well priced.

The architecture and scenes were amazing, the people are chill, and the cities were very VERY safe, like shockingly safe. There was a massive protest there and not even that felt dangerous. If you love wine, Georgia invented it and you can get it everywhere.

I imagine there’s a massive untapped destination there. Seemed Georgia has nailed gambling as a tourism experience in Batumi, but not skiing.
