I want to get really good in a specific area of software engineering but I'm not sure what yet. I want to do something no one has done before.
Most everything in each part of computer science has been done, so there's mostly a lot of rehashing of old ideas in new forms. If you want to make something new, then get into randomly combining ideas and concepts from multiple disciplines, and questioning their cliches.
