I was thinking about why countries don't ruthlessly ban the consumption of dangerous animals. In the US people eat Armadillo even though it's chock full of things like the plague. Dudes think exotic animals are viagra, so banning them means taking the President's hard on.
I've traveled all over the world and eaten nearly every thing you can think of, and "stamina!" is put forward as a reason for eating a lot of these disease carrying animals. There's also the status symbol aspect of being able to pay for it too. It won't get banned any time soon.

Further more, plenty of people come out claiming that only the poor eat these exotic animals, but that's bullshit. These dishes are very exclusive, especially if it's an illegal animal. You also see the explanation that it's culture, but it's toxic male culture 90% of the time.

So yeah, we're going to have many more SARS and COVID-19 and plague outbreaks because a bunch of dudes in power think eating an Armadillo Pangolin Bat wing soup is going to give them a boner.
