The AMS flights and hotel were at the end of the trip, just a stop before coming home to Miami, and I got the flight/hotel with points. I may call and see if I can cancel them, but most likely not. That means I'll have to at a minimum fly to AMS for 6 days.

But I definitely benefited from buying insurance on the trip. I'll most likely get the remaining money back if I file a claim. Sad thing is I was going to speak at a conference in Pilani, but I've told them I'll be doing it online and sending them a live stream.
