Alright I bought the Sony RX100 VII and I'm kicking myself for not getting it before my long trip. Walked around last night and did some photos and videos and it was perfectly fine compared to the Olympus. The power for its size is amazing.
Also the "pocket camera" genre of cameras has finally figured out how to compete with the iPhone: 1. Easy external mic jack. Duuhhhhhhhh. 2. Flip up selfie-mode viewer. Duhhhhh. 3. Better optical zoom and slightly better image. Those 3 and price it at an iPhone and done.
Some of their apps have cool features too. You can put the camera on a tripod and use the app as a remote, even change settings and see through the viewfinder. This lets you run around the scene and adjust things without having to go back and check them.
