I made a bunch of Bass VI guitars which have that shitty Jazzmaster trem and I hated them so much I made a hardtail version that's a million times better. On the plus side, this is a G&L dual fulcrum trem which works a lot better than others and is very stable.

Oh so it's sort of floating? Guess if you stick to 12s now it shouldn't give you too much grief. I have an Ibanez I'd actually play if I could convert to hard tail, rather than just blocking the trem. Not sure filling the cavity would work

Yeah and not a good one. Not sure but I'd say its 90's cheap Korean RG. That's why I didn't mind taking it apart to have a look

Reckon abandon it? Was going to sand back and paint but need to do something with the bridge & don't want to buy a new one. Warmoth parts look cool, love the sunburst tele shapepic.twitter.com/0KYu4Jvi9J

mmmm, I mean if you *really* love it and want to just get rid of the tremolo then you're going to have to strip it, build a wood block to fill it all in, and then put the one you want on. It'll be a project for sure. Building a whole new one might be easier.

This site will also help: https://www.stewmac.com/ Especially the books: https://www.stewmac.com/How-To/Books/Guitar_Building_and_Repair_and_Setup_Books/ … Get a few of those and study them plus watch people build some on youtube. Then buy the *cheapest* set of pre-painted warmoth parts to make your first one.

Start by watching some folks on youtube. That'll give you ideas. I build them on a kitchen table with only a few tools.
