I finally managed to get nice big heavy strings 12-52mm on my G&L Doheny V12 guitar. It has a wound G, and I have to tune 1/2 step flat, and it took me 3 hours to balance the saddle height, tremolo tension, and neck truss rod. Works now but what a pain in the ass.

Oh so it's sort of floating? Guess if you stick to 12s now it shouldn't give you too much grief. I have an Ibanez I'd actually play if I could convert to hard tail, rather than just blocking the trem. Not sure filling the cavity would work

Yeah and not a good one. Not sure but I'd say its 90's cheap Korean RG. That's why I didn't mind taking it apart to have a look
