Hahahahahaha what is this traaassssh. One follow finally worked beause ... reasons ... and then all of that person's content, retweets, everything starts flooding my timeline and no config to say "hey, I want my public timeline to be just mine". This will never defeat twitter.

do you mean the public timeline, as in /main/public? i only see my posts there on my single-user instance. i see everyone's posts in /main/all or (my default view) /main/friends. due to federation, other users' timelines show up on your instance; seehttps://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/issues/1206 …

i looked at your instance. you can change the default display in your prod.secret.exs file: config :pleroma, :frontend_configurations, pleroma_fe: %{ redirectRootNoLogin: "/main/public", redirectRootLogin: "/main/friends", [...] }

According to this bug I cannot remove it entirely (not redirect): https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/issues/301 … The stated reason is because forcing TWKN on people is the stated purpose of "federation." Have any comments about that bug report and the commentary?

no, i don't think there's any way to remove it. i looked at the backend code, and the api function for that timeline takes a "local" parameter to make it display local only posts, but i don't know how to make the frontend add that to the url.

Well thanks for the advice. I'm guessing I'll have to go in and do some cutting until it stops bleeding. ;-)
