Next step for getting off other services is to get a small personal gitea up for "posting": https://work.zedshaw.com/ I figure, when I write, I sort of don't care if it's all pretty and in a blog, so just put it there. Let's see how it works.

I'd say hard pass for now. It's basically a worse abuse vector than Twitter (and that's a real hard thing to pull off). Basically, if someone wants to spray your website with childporn they can and you have to manually dig around to find a way to block them.
