I'm going to research the fediverse protocols by my first impressions are incredibly lackluster. I guess what I want is the "lonerverse". I want simple easy chunky posting like Twitter, to my own site, and you can pull my feed if you want *without talking to me* just like RSS.

You may want to try writefreely/write.as. It's a great way to publish content to the Fediverse and others can consume your feed, but afaik there is no talk-back that you seem to be concerned about.
No, talk back is not the concern at all. I like the interaction, but this is a whole other level of bad design. There's "talk back as in people can reply and talk to me". Then there's what this does which is "inject all the crap someone I follow into my feed like I said it."
