9TB of SD drives and 5 400GB mini SD cards turned out to be enough for a 2 month trip around the world, but not for a 3 month. It is also *really* difficult to find pro audio, video, and tech equipment here. Best I could do was some USB 3.0 WD drives for more backups.

Other things you have to deal with you don't expect: 1. Heat is the killer. These devices already run hot, so 85f weather in direct sunlight gets you 15 minutes running time. 2. I'd rather a slight larger device to get better battery time. External battery increases #1.

      3. I planned on doing a painting, then editing the videos at night and uploading them each day. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Thailand says, "Fuck you Farang guy and your American internet <block> <fail> <crawl>." 4. When some guy is yelling at you trying to get you to move listen:

Story: I was painting and this old Thai dude kept yelling at me and saying "Wat" (temple). I was painting the temple and I couldn't figure out what the hell he wanted. It looked like he wanted me to stand in the street, which is a death sentence in Thailand. What? 1/2

2/2 I neared the end and for some dumb reason I put a telephone pole right down the center of the temple. Ohhhhhhh, he wanted me to stand so I could see the whole Wat and not cut it in half with an ugly telephone pole. So I just painted it out. Dude was right.pic.twitter.com/O8TYlqlG4d

      5. The GoPro Max's 360 (or just any 360 video) is the future of my painting experience videos. I literally can replace my current 3 camera setup (scene, mixing, painting) with one 360 camera and be done with it. For instruction though the 360 doesn't work as well.

      6. I had my first cracked painting, but only noticed after I'd varnished it and framed it and was handing it to a friend. The cracks were minor, but painting cracking gets worse over time. It was on an excellent panel and no paints that typically crack, so no idea why.

      7. The best places to paint are the places that are the wildest. Phanat Nikhom is all over the map, with a Wat amongst trees and old trucks with rusted buildings. The worst was Tokyo because it was sterilized and boring with too many cops with nothing to do.

      8. The toughest thing about painting outside in Thailand (especially in Bangkok) is finding a place to stand where a moped or car won't put you in the hospital. Phanat Nikhom works, Chantaburi is about 50/50. Bangkok is NoWayInHell I'm standing within 20m of that road.

          9. It sounds stupid, but I had to buy new shoes twice, and finding size 13 was nearly impossible even with massive super malls. I eventually got some *fantastic* Northface gortex shoes and you'd think that'd be stupid in SE Asia but they rock. No sweating, stays dry, and solid.

          10. I did not see a single person painting outside at all. People were blown away that someone would do art outside and would come up and take photos like I was a green elephant, but everyone immediately knew what I was doing. The gear seems to be universal.

          11. I could eat their spiciest foods. One time they took me to a remote restaurant and ordered wild boar and deer and told me it was "really spicy". I ate it like it was popcorn and they stared at me like I was juggling 20 chainsaws. "You are really good at eating Thai food."

That's it so far. When I get back to "Farang Internet" I'll start posting all of this and writing about the trip.
